7 Timeless Fashion Tips for Men

Men have made mistakes in fashion ever since wool was first found. And that’s a long time ago.

Follow these 7 fashion tips and you’ll be on your way to a more stylish life.

1)Don’t tuck your shirt in your pants
Only if you’re going to wear a tie or a formal jacket. Shirts tucked in jeans are a big no-no.

2)Always iron your shirt
Even if you’re going to wear a suit, unironed shirts just look awful. Who knows if you on an occasion have to drop the jacket? Don’t take that chance.

3)Make it fit
Nothing is more important in fashion than to wear your clothes with the right fit, and in the right size. Women are usually better to judge that than we are, so take help from them while you’re in the store. Fitting size is Alfa-omega for jeans. Too big and you’ll look like a fool, and vice-versa if they’re too small.

4)Match shoes with belt
I know that this is an old one, but I still think it’s relevant. If you’re wearing black shoes, please wear a black belt too. It’s just a sign of good style.

5)Dress shoes require dress socks
No athletic socks allowed.

6)Dress for your age
No matter how cool a shirtless hoodie looks, it’s just wrong on a 50+ man. No offence to older (or younger) people, but dressing for one’s age is one of the most important rules in fashion.

7)White and black
As these should be timeless tips, it should be said that white and black will always be in style.

Follow these 7 easy fashion tips, and you’ll be in style for the rest of your life. Or, at least you’ll be in the right direction.

Best Time to Buy Anything

Get the best deals on everything from airline tickets to a car. It's all in your timing

What: Airline tickets
When: 1 a.m. on Wednesday
Why: This is the best time to find a deal because airlines reset their fares every Wednesday just after midnight, says Peter Greenberg, Men's Health Travel Detective.

What: New suit
When: January or July
Why: The spring collection hits stores in January, so find a deal on fall suits; they'll be marked down as much as 30 percent. It's the reverse in July.

What: Gym membership
When: July and August
Why: New memberships plummet midsummer, so you might find a deal because gyms are in a negotiating mood.

What: Car
When: November and December
Why: Don't, as many experts say, buy the previous year's model in late summer when the new models hit. There's a year of depreciation on them already. Instead, buy next year's model late in the year, when dealers are antsy.

What: Caribbean vacation
When: March and April
Why: There will still be plenty of chilly weather at home to escape in early spring, and you'll save 25 percent or more by avoiding the peak season of December to February, says Orbitz travel expert Kendra Thornton.

What: House
When: October to December
Why: Real estate varies from place to place. But in general, supply exceeds demand in the fall, after the school year begins.
